Carolina Speedway's Skyler Trull Memorial Awaits SECA

Following in the storied footsteps of short track dirt racing history here in the Carolinas, the 17th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial awaits the Southeast Region this weekend at Carolina Speedway. Last week’s March Madness event at Cherokee Speedway was outstanding as increased car counts and fan attendance continue to shine a bright light on the future of our sport and the association.

While all 3 SECA sanctioned divisions will be in action this weekend, the main spotlight will definitely be on the SECA Late Models as drivers across the eastern seaboard venture to the Gastonia, NC oval to tackle the 1st SRI Performance Bonus Race presented by RockAuto.com of the 2017 season.

A $3000 payday awaits the victor in an event filled with prestige and tradition. While several teams have flexed their muscle early in this 2017 season, the “Action Track” has always delivered intriguing storylines and this year should be no exception. John Ruggiero, Ryan Atkins, Trent Ivey, & Dillon Brown are off to very solid starts thus far. However, it will take more than the average effort to prevail in one of the season’s headlining events.

Open Practice is schedule for Thursday evening while Friday will offer SECA Late Model Qualifying, a Top 6 Dash, and heat races for the remainder of the field. The weekend culminates on Saturday night as the stars of the South Eastern Crate Association Late Model division wage war for the $3000 payday and the prestigious Skyler Trull Memorial Trophy.
