Engine Parts Deemed Illegal
At the conclusion of the SECA Crate Sportsman main event
this past Saturday (6/17/2017) at Lancaster Speedway, the
engine of Jacob Catoe was protested by a fellow competitor
and immediately secured by track officials.
In accordance with the SECA Crate Sportsman rules and
regulations, the engine was removed, secured, and
delivered to SECA certified engine rebuilder Ellison
Racing Engines for technical inspection. A thorough
evaluation has been completed and the results confirm that
the valve springs on Catoe's engine do not conform to the
specifications outlined for SECA Crate Sportsman
As a result, Catoe will face the penalties outlined in the
2017 SECA Crate Sportsman Rule Book. In addition, the
results of the 6/17/2017 SECA Crate Sportsman event at
Lancaster Speedway will be updated accordingly.
On behalf of SECA, we appreciate everyone's assistance and
professionalism throughout this inspection process.
