SECA Late Models Stampede Into Friendship Speedway

With the 2016 race season in full stride, SECA Late Model drivers across the southeast are gearing up for this weekend’s $3000 To Win Spring Stampede showdown at Friendship Speedway. The Elkin, NC venue plays host to the 3rd Heintz Performance SECA Bonus Race presented by JRi Shocks of the 2016 season as the chase for the 2016 City Chevrolet Weekly Championship presented by RockAuto.com begins to take shape. Along with the valuable bonus points, a $3000 payday awaits the driver that can conquer the multi-grooved 4/10 mile oval.

The overwhelming parity in 2016 SECA Late Model competition thus far is unparalleled. Dillon Brown leads the standings, Thomas Robinson has established himself as a contender, Cherokee Bonus Race winner Trent Ivey is finding his rhythm, Carolina Bonus Race Winner Steve Banal has been solid, defending track champion Chris Cheek looks to defend his home turf, Friendship season opener victor Ryan Atkins is poised, and Matt Long continues to knock on victory lane’s door via back to back runner up finishes in weekly SECA action this past weekend.

Preliminary action (qualifying, heat races, and Top 6 Dash) are set for Friday night with the 40 lap feature scheduled to follow on Saturday. Will we see a repeat Bonus Race Winner or will a new face rise to the occasion and put their name on the winner’s check? With 8 action packed divisions headline by the 3rd SECA Bonus Race of the season, a visit by the SEDMS Modifieds, and the largest purse of 2016 for the SECA Modifieds….. the bullring nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains is the place to be for any fan this coming weekend.
