Banal Goes Back To Back At Skyler Trull Memorial

Fielding a new Swartz chassis, 2015 STM Champion Steve Banal wasted no time in establishing himself as a frontrunner in 2016. Last year's runner up in the City Chevrolet Weekly Championship, set fast time at Carolina Speedway and led flag to flag in capturing his 2nd consecutive Skyler Trull Memorial! Banal's victory in the seasonís 2nd Heintz Performance Bonus Race presented by JRi Shocks, delivered $3000 to the family owned team in front of a near capacity crowd at the Gastonia, NC venue.

Following Banal to the checkered flag were Chris Hargett, Ryan Atkins, Mike Pegher, and Dale Timms. Hargett and Atkins battled feverishly for the runner-up spot throughout much of the race. Hargett, in his first event for WP Racing, was solid throughout the entire weekend in scoring a solid 2nd place finish. Up next is weekly racing at several SECA sanctioned tracks. Heintz Performance Bonus Race #3 is set for March 26th at Hartwell Speedway. The $2000 To Win event at the Marty Lance owned venue is sure to draw a competitive field of late models.
