Sumter Speedway Prepares For SECA Showdown

With summer just around the corner, the competition for the 2015 City Chevrolet Weekly Championship presented by is already heating up. SECA Late Model teams across the southeast are preparing for this weekend’s showdown at Sumter Speedway. Saturday’s Heintz Performance Bonus Race presented by JRi Shocks will be the 6th Bonus Race of 2016 as numerous drivers eye the $2000 prize that awaits the victor.

Last year’s event was intense as Sumter standouts Matt Lawson and Banjo Duke battled Timbo Mangum, Matt Long, and others before Mangum eventually prevailed. In addition to the local contingency of teams (Duke, Lawson, Hank Taylor, and others) in and around the Sumter area, many 2016 SECA championship contenders have Sumter on their radar as well. Dillon Brown, Trent Ivey and Wesley Cadwallader are jockeying for position in the standings and are looking for a strong performance this weekend. Joshua Bishop is expected to make his 2016 Bonus Race debut as regional competitors Chris Hargett and Matt Long are set to return to SECA action as well.

FIVE valuable bonus points await this weekend’s drivers as the battle for supremacy in this year’s Weekly Championship begins to take shape. For more information about Sumter Speedway you can visit them online ( and follow them on Twitter (@SumterSpeedway)
