SECA 2016 Season Update

With the start of the 2016 racing season just around the corner, the South Eastern Crate Association continues to work with its tracks, marketing partners, and teams in preparation for its 4th season of competition. While a few items are still being finalized, we do have the following information to pass along at this time:

SECA Late Models:

In 2016, the SECA Crate Late Model Weekly Championship will pay 25 positions with $5000 going to the champion. Championship points will be calculated by taking the Best 15 Finishes in SECA sanctioned events at SECA sanctioned tracks.

We are pleased to inform our teams that SECA will return to The Dirt Track @ Charlotte in 2016. SECA officials will be meeting with Charlotte officials very soon to review the event schedule and we look forward to joining the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars once again at The Outlaw Showdown on May 27th!

The 2016 SECA LM Rulebook is being finalized as we speak. SECA officials are well aware of the “hot topics” this off season. We are diligently reviewing all of the rules…….. including those related to shocks, suspension, tires, and fuel.

SECA Crate Sportsman:

In 2016, the SECA Crate Sportsman Weekly Championship will pay 10 positions with $1000 going to the champion. Championship points will be calculated by taking the Best 15 Finishes in SECA sanctioned events at SECA sanctioned tracks.

SECA Officials will be working with the tracks in hopes of scheduling some special event races. “River Wars” was very popular in 2015 and replicating that in 2016 will be one of our goals.
The 2016 SECA Crate Sportsman Rulebook has been finalized and posted on our website (secaracing.com)

SECA 602 Open Wheel Modified:

Several teams and tracks have expressed interest in SECA sanctioning the 602 open wheel modified division. SECA officials have reviewed this request and we will have an announcement regarding this topic very soon. While we are excited about the possibilities of sanctioning this division, SECA officials are committed to doing the due diligence of speaking with the race tracks and putting together the right program. We appreciate everyone’s patience as work towards this goal.

With that, we thank everyone for their continued support. Stay tuned to Facebook (South Eastern Crate Association), Twitter (@secaracing), and our website (secaracing.com) for more details and announcements about the 2016 season.
