Parker & Banal Capture SECA Bonus Race Victories

On a cold Saturday night in Elkin, NC at Friendship Speedway, Ron Parker was able to navigate the Parker Motorsports #8 Rocket Chassis to score a $2000 triumph and his first SECA Bonus Race victory.

After coming up just short in Friday Night's $1,000 to win Mello Yello 25, Parker was able to set sail Saturday night after besting the SECA field during time trials. Once the green... flag dropped, "The Bull" was able to fend off a late race charge from runner up Steve Banal in a caution free event and take the winner's share back to Belwood, NC.

"This is my kind of racing up here", stated a jubilant Parker in victory lane. "We love coming to Friendship to race, and this weekend we have been able to race. Last night was fun.....we passed some very fast cars and we just came up a little short. Tonight just tops it all off! I wasn't sure how it would end up because I had no brakes for the majority of the race, but we was all in and it worked out for us."

Sunday afternoon brought more sunshine, but the cold temperatures lingered early on at Cherokee Speedway as the Gaffney, SC venue hosted the third $2,500 to win SECA Bonus Race of the season.

Steve Banal was able to stay hot during the cold weekend as he piloted the Wesley & John Page owned #75 Mastersbilt around the 3/8 mile speedway in route to turning the day's fastest lap during time trials.

Once the green dropped, Banal powered to the lead and was able to fight off challenges from Corey Gordon. The field was slowed by several cautions as the slick track conditions made for difficult navigation for some drivers. Banal lead flag to flag in the crate late model portion of Cherokee's March Madness extravaganza in claiming his 2nd Bonus Race victory of the season.

"It's been a long weekend! We won two out of three this weekend, so we will take that and move on to next weekend. It is John's birthday this weekend, and I think he will accept these as gifts" Banal laughed in victory lane!"
