Tires From Travelers Rest Speedway Fail To Meet Benchmark

Following time trials at SECA sanctioned Travelers Rest Speedway (Travelers Rest, SC) on July 17th, tire samples were taken from competitor David McCoy. The samples that were properly collected and secured from McCoy's car by Travelers Rest Speedway officials did not meet the benchmark at the independent laboratory that was sufficiently set forth by the tire manufacturer.

As a result, McCoy is disqualified from the July 17th event at Travelers Rest Speedway and all drivers initially finishing behind McCoy in the feature event will be scored up one position from their original finishing spot. As a result of these findings and in accordance with SECA rules, McCoy faces the following penalties:

1) Disqualification from the July 17th SECA event at Travelers Rest Speedway

2) A fine of $1,000 which must be paid before competing in any SECA sanctioned event

3) McCoy will only be allowed to claim 15 races towards the 2015 City Chevrolet Weekly Championship

4) 50 point deduction to end of year City Chevrolet Weekly Championship standings

We would like to thank everyone involved for their professionalism throughout this process. All results and points will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the changes in the finishing order of the July 17th event at Travelers Rest Speedway.
